Update 2009: Black and white print. Head and shoulders studio portrait. Image of a man in a suit coat, white shirt, bow tie. He has short hair, full mustache, and chin whiskers. Image in center of large sheet of paper. Signed in black ink below image "Respectfully yours, Geo. Ferris".
Written in blue ink below signature: "1840-1900"
Written on the back in black ink: "Came to Wyoming with Custer's 7th Michigan Cavalry. Came to Rawlins permanently in 1868. Had a contract to kill wild game for the meat supply of the construction workers on the UP Railroad. Owned a 3/4 interest in Ferris-Haggerty Mines. Rancher and sheepman. He was killed in 1900 when his team of horses ran away with him." "Copied" "People".
