Description

A 14" x 16.5" black and white studio portrait attached to gray matboard showing five men in military like uniforms. Some have long swords. (Three men are standing behind three men who are seated). Man at center front is wearing a three piece dark suit. He is holding a dark top hat on his knee and wearing gloves. He has been identified by donor as Governor Bryant Brooks (his term was 1905-1911). The man at far right in back row is donor's grandfather, Charles Jackson. Theodore Roosevelt is at side right in front row (in uniform). The men were part of the governor's staff. It is not known why Roosevelt was photographed in uniform with them. Written on the back of the photo: "Men of Wyoming's Governor's Staff, Charles Jackson back row far right."
