Mrs. Hertzler and Ruth, Ada, Carmen. Mr. and Mrs. Hertzler raised the girls as their Dad was in the country most of the time. Mr. Jim Hertzler was first cousin to Mrs. Rivera, 1905.
Update - March 2010: Black & white print attached to tan matboard. Image shows a white multilevel roofed white frame house. There is a small front landing at the top of the high steps with a dark screen door in background. An older woman wearing dark dress & white shawl is sitting in a chair at side right on landing. A young girl is sitting at her feet. Two other girls wearing white dresses are seated on lower steps at left & right. Yard has sparse vegetation. A basement window is at ground level with a cellar entrance on side right. Other houses are seen at background left with hill in the distance.
Written on back in black ink: Mrs. Hertzell & three nieces. She raised the girls. They were our neighbors in Rawlins, 1905.
Written in blue - Home of Rubin Rivera at Pine St. Picture is of Mrs. Hertzler & the three daughters of Mrs. Rivera. Ruth, Ada, & Carmen. Mr. & Mrs. Hertzler raised the girls as their dad was in the country most of the time. Mr. Jim Hertzler is the first cousin of Mrs. Rivera. they were always called Auntie and Uncle. They were my very good friends. Carmen & I started school together & then graduated at the same time. I still visit them in Denver. Doris Waekerlin Anderson 1978
Condition: Fair. Matboard & image are soiled & worn. Print is silvering & is lifting at corners. Image & mat are bent at various locations with cracks & wrinkles. Mat is curving at various locations. There are other scuff & scratches.Collection
