Description

Black & white print of a parade. Leading the parade are two women on horses. One horse is dark colored & the other light. Both women have on large western hats. Behind them are three more sets of two people mounted on horses. Following that is a group of mounted riders. Vintage cars are parked along the street. A Lincoln highway marker is in the middle of the intersection on photo left. It has a cement base with a pole & sign on pole with an "L" on top. People are observing parade & a young boy is in street on lower photo right. Written on back in pencil: "Taken late 1920's or early 1930's 400 Block Cedar Street (South Side) (1) Masonic Building - Burned in 1930's was 1st post office til new one was built (2) IOOF Hall (3) [blank] (4) Burned - H Hansen Building - became Harris Jewelry was the Ranger Cafe burned - was included into J C Penney store to become (5) Anthonys store 1991 - now Stage Store (6) Della Vivions "Cedar Chest" 1991" "Fair Parade" Information from a scanned copy - Written on bottom border: "Note: Lincoln Highway Sign - 1927 - 400 Block W. Cedar (Fair Parade)" Copy in accession book. Stamped in black: "Meyers Studio Rawlins, WY Good condition. Irregular emulsion, liquid spots, creased, scratched, edges worn.
