Sepia print on cream mat. Image of a clapboard house with small covered porch on the corner of house. The porch has a post & decorative trim below roof. Standing in the yard are two men & three children. The men are dressed in dark, three piece suits, ties & white shirts. The two boys are dressed in short pant suits with large collars & dark socks. Each wears a hat. The girl in the middle wears a light colored dress with a large bow & a wide brimmed hat. Yard is grass, plants & bushes with a wood barrel, box & hoses on photo left of house. Other houses are seen in the background on both sides of the house.
Written on back in blue ink: "The Louis Schalk home on West Buffalo Street. Mr. Schalk was postmaster here for many years & also had a book store. This home was built in the 1880's. Later a second story was added & it is now an apartment house owned by Earl Harper" "Copied by State" In pencil: "Page 55 pix 1 4 1/4 x 7 1/4 73%"
Good condition. Scratched, creased, liquid spots, emulsion impacted, accretion, mat has been cut down, edges worn & paper missing.
