Shrine Affair, 1915.
Update - September 2010: Black & white print. Image of a group of approximately 30 men dressed in costume. They are sitting & standing on the steps of a stone building with wood double doors. Their faces are painted, they have on wigs, some in women's clothing with large hats. One is dressed as a jester, another with a mule's head & two with what looks like bottoms of a wash tub to be used as cymbals. Several are holding or smoking cigars. One man on far left has on a Shrine Fez & is wearing a long, heavy coat, white shirt & bow tie.
Written on back in blue ink: "Shrine Affair in Rawlins, Wyo About 1915" "49" in a circle.
Good condition. Edges soiled & worn, rip in left, lower side, silvering, adhesive & brown paper on back from previous mounting which has also impacted the emulsion.Collection
