Description

D.C. Kinnaman and Billy Mills in 1908 International car. Update 2008: Black and white snapshot. Image of two men seated in a vintage car on a dirt road in front of a large stone building (original 1882 Courthouse). Car is a one-seater with open bed and wagon wheel type tires, no top; right hand drive. Men are dressed in dark suits, ties and white shirts. One is wearing a small billed cap and the other a tan Stetson. Stone wall can be seen at edge of road in mid-ground. Stone building sits on raised ground that is bare of trees or bushes. Other buildings can be seen in background at left with low hills behind across the image. Written on back in pencil: "#4" "Mr. Kinnaman and Dr. Osborne" (crossed out and replaced with names in blue ink below). Written on the back in blue ink:"Daniel C. Kinnaman and Billy Mills in 1908 International". Stamped on back in black ink: "Frank J. Meyers Photographer Rawlins Wyoming". Paper residue on back at top center; yellow discoloration along left edge on back. Writing on back impacting emulsion at right side. Emulsion cracked and crazed vertically through center. May have been cut down from original size-edges rough. One black and white copy. 4 1/2 x 5 3/4. Stamped on back in black ink: Frank J. Meyers Rawlins, Wyo. Written in pencil on back: Daily Times. Written in black ink: "Daniel C. Kinnaman Billy Mills in 1908 International. Tiny sticker on back: Cars and trucks in pencil. An irregular white margin is seen on bottom edge. Good condition with developing anomaly that gives it a crazed effect. Minor wear on edges and corners. Slight bends and scratches in emulsion surface. A remnant of tape is on back of print, minor soiling on front and back surfaces.
