Black & white copy print of two rows of people. Back row is six men dressed in suit coats & ties. They are holding hats in their hands. Front row is two men & one small girl between them. Men have on suit jackets & ties, holding their hats on their laps. The young girl is looking toward the man on photo left. She has a large bow in her hair & a light colored dress.
Written on back in pencil: "(Martinez Folder)"
Good condition. The photograph has been identified as various members of the Branch Family, and was taken at Fort Steele between 1910-1913. They are identified as follows:
Back row, L-R-Carlos Branch, Ralph Branch, Adopho Branch, Emilio Branch, Albert Branch, and Alfred Branch
Front row, L-R-Pablo Branch, Adailita ?, and Luis Branch. (Pablo and Luis are twins). Pablo is the father of Carlos and Albert (in the back row). The Branch family is native to Mora, NM, and some of the family came to Carbon County by 1900. They first settled in Encampment (worked smelting copper) and Fort Steele (as tie hackers). Museum records show that Alfred owned the Branch Saloon in Rawlins by 1917, and later after Prohibition he purchased the Wyoming Bar.Collection
