Description

P.E. Daley on deer head Update 2008: Black and white print affixed to black matboard. Matboard has faded gold engraved fancy script at bottom right " The Ferris Studio" Imprinted at bottom left corner of matboard is a tiny wigwam and Rawlins, Wyo underneath it. An ornate raised border surrounds the print which has been worn exposing a whitish layer in some places. The edges of mat are textured with a grosgrain effect. Print depicts a posed photo of a baby with light hair and eyes and wearing a long white christening gown propped on the back of a taxidermic wide racked elk head which has been draped with a brocade type cloth draped from a heighth at back wall and cascading to underneath of the baby. Elk head chin is resign on the tapestry cloth at bottom edge and the baby is framed by the elk horns. A wooden window frame is partially seen corner left back. Decorative floral wallpaper is on wall. Good condition . Mat is slightly worn and faded at corners and edges and decorative border. Worn edges with abrasion of print edges exposing parts of white layer of print. Very fine line of tiny droplets bottom left of print, see with magnifier. Minimal scratches at lower half of print. Update 6/15/2023 by Kelia McCuddy: this is Perce Edward Daley 1902- 1963 Son of William Walter Daley and Margaret E. Edwards Daley. Nefew to Percy Earl Daley. Father to Robert Daley and James Burger Daley. Husband to Edith Myra Brown Daley.
