Description

A 6 3/4" long small cradleboard made from red and blue trade cloth. The covering is a domestic type fabric with three narrow beaded leather straps (beads are green red, pink, blues in color). Top of flat piece of cradleboard has geometric beaded design. Donor states that the beads are possibly old beads. Leather strap in back is broken. Interior of cradleboard is stuffed with a black felt-like material with a small strip of red trade cloth binding at top. Updated 2013: Label reads, "Toy cradleboard, used to teach Native American children lessons about adulthood, such as parenting skills".
