Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner (Mary Reid), came to Rawlins in 1882. Florence, left, Dewey and John (died in 1913 at 19 years).
Update 2/2010: Black and white print. Studio portrait. Mounted on grey matboard. Half-length portrait of a man, woman and three children. Painted backdrop behind. Young girl at left is wearing a white dress with ruffled bodice; her hair is loose but pulled back; she has curly bangs. Man is dressed in a dark suit, white shirt and striped tie. He has short receding hair and a mustache. Infant at center is wearing a white dress with ruffles and lace on bodice. Woman is wearing a black ruffled high collared dress with flower pin on collar. Her hair is pinned up. Young boy at right is wearing a dark suit with wide white collar, plaid bow at neck and white pointed oval buttons, his hair is very short.
Written on back in blue ink: "Dewey" "John died at 19, 1913". In black ink: "Mr. & Mrs. Robert Turner". "Came 1882" "Mrs. Turner was Mary Reid". " Florence-left Dewey John (died at 19 in 1913)". Mounted on acidic matboard. Cut down from original size-edges uneven and rough, writing on back cut off. Matback soiled; liquid stain in upper left corner. Pencil arrows on lower front mat margin. Image surface scuffed and slightly soiled.Collection
