Update 2008: There are two identical black and white oval portrait prints mounted to black tag board of a young man with dark hair and eyes wearing a dark jacket with a high collar white shirt. A black tie with small white dots is tied with small tie knot and hangs down under jacket at center front. Jacket has very high lapels. Outer embossed decorative border surrounds oval print.
Portrait 1: Good condition. Slight fading of Matboard with tiny mark at bottom edge. Print has rough outer edge at top with slight abrasion of emulsion at bottom. Very minor surface scratches and a few black specks of residue . Engraved lower right in the black mat: Butler, Salt Lake City.
Written on back in black ink: Homer P. Edwards, 1904.
Portrait 2: Good condition. White smudges on matboard top half and red stain on lower matboard edge. Fine tiny white residue dots are seen on matboard. Print has several smudges on surface, several residue remnant drops and minor scratches in emulsion. A white sticker on back has a red outer border. Written on inside of border area in blue green ink: Homer Edwards? brother of Madge Daley and W. Edwards. An imprint of the oval decorative border created indentation on backside.
