Photo of William J. Smith called Whisker Smith. He first worked for Hugus and Company as dry good manager. Smith and Hopka then changed it to Rawlins Mer. Co. He died 1907. Update - January 2010: Sepia print. Studio portrait. Mounted on tan cardboard. Half-length, profile portrait of an older man with a long, full beard. He is dressed in a dark suit & white shirt & wears glasses. He is facing to the viewers's left. Written on the back in black ink: "No. 19" "Wm J. Smith [crossed out]" "W. H. Smith - called Whisker Smith. Mounted on acidic cardboard; cut down from original size - edges uneven. Edge & corner damage; bent in lower left corner & top right image surface scratched; indented with writing through center.
