Description

Camp hat, looks similar to the capote, red and black with leather straps, has two red "ears" at the top, made by Doug Gailbreth in 2001 and purchased by Ed Kennaday the same year. Ed has used the camp hat in Mountain Man re-enactments. "Coyote ears" wre placed on hats because coyotes were revered by Native American Indians. Mountain men having the "ears" on their hats were less likely to be killed by Natives.
