Description

Start of a green, red, gold & white textile loom, 4 sticks. Update 2013: A backstrap loom; "a small Navajo rug in the process of weaving to show how it is done" from donor record. Red, green, beige, gold geometric design. Wool thread, red color is bleeding into the unwoven strings. Wooden bars of loom are different sizes. Top wooden piece is 13.5"; 15.75" two small wooden bars in middle for working loom; 13.5" bottom piece to hold the tied threads. Approximately 20" long from top to bottom. Object had been given T530. Update 2013: Beginning of a Native American design rug on small loom; red, green, beige, gold geometric design, wool, backstrap loom, red color is fugitive (Staining) 13.5" top, 15.75" mid range, 13.5" lower.
