A black and white photographic snapshot. Image shows a high wooden trestle structure at side right. At photo center are six coal laden coal rail cards. A small square wooden shed like building is located in front of the center of the coal cars with the word "Fairbanks" printed on it. (this is the name of the scale). A black cylindrical metal drum is at background, (a boiler?) Large smoke stacks are at far background. Barren rocky ground is at forground. Written on the back in red ink: Probably the Sampo (Hanna, Wyo) Mine operated by Finns in 1910 (?). V. S. was their manager for a while. They went broke. Fair condition. Fading, wear on edges/corners. Wrinkled and bent corners. Lightly soiled front and back. Smudges on backside.Collection
