T142Description
Short sword & scabbard. Black wood handle, flat end sword, stone clad grip, round guard. Update 2013: Measures 20.75" from end of handle to tip end. Handle is not black wood. It is a lighter wood with a ray skin overlay which appears as tiny looking off-white bubbles mounted close together. Some of the skin is missing and the exposed wood is seen. There is a black metal handle end with brown string around it. There are strings of various types above the guard. The guard is dark metal with engraved open design including a star and flower in gold. There are other gold markings resembling elaborate x's and wavy lines. This sword is oriental in origen. Blade has some corrosion (inactive). There is a small mylar bag filled with several small pieces of the string from the handle. Scabbard is made of a light wood (balsa?, bamboo?), painted black. It has brown thread wrapped around upper end. Scabbard is splitting at upper area in several places. There are large scratches on scabbard on all sides.Collection
