Description

Man in a dark suit and tie with mustache on upper lip. Update 5/2010: Black and white studio portrait on white card. Image of a man with bushy mustache, hair combed forward and right. He has high cheek bones and a prominent nose. He is wearing a dark textured jacket buttoned at top, dark tie, white shirt. Printed at bottom: "Baker Carbon, Wyoming". Edges are scalloped at bottom and trimmed in gold all around. Condition good. Emulsion impacted. Note: This photo was run as a mystery photo in the newspaper, and the man is tentatively identified as Wilford "Wiff" Wilson, who discovered the Hiawatha Gas Fields South of Rock Springs in 1927. He was an early day cowboy, and is buried in the Reader Cemetery, Savery, WY. 1862-1928. He married Florence Fly in 1888 in Routt Co., CO., 1870?-1951.
