Update 5/2010: Black and white studio portrait on white card. Image of two women and nine children in front of studio prop of inside of a house . Four children are seated on a bench with one seated on a chair next to bench on photo right. Four children stand behind them and women are in back. Children are all dressed nicely and women have on dark long sleeved dresses. Children appear to be 4 girls and 5 boys varying in age from infant to pre-teen. Printed on bottom in gold: "Towles Studios 65 1/2 Centre St. Cumberland, Frostburg and Lonaconing, Md." "Negatives retained for future orders." A decorative banner and coat of arms is diagonal across back with " Maryland, Fatti, Maschi, Parole, Famine" printed along with 2 men, one holding a shovel and one holding a fish.
Condition good. Two deep scratches, soiled on bottom, emulsion impacted, top right side image rubbed out.Collection
