Image of a man behind a studio prop wood fence looking at a newspaper being held by a seated lady on opposite side of the fence . he is wearing a dark jacket, vest and white high collar shirt . She has on a dark long dress with fitted top, pleats and buttons and a brooch at neck on collar. A chain is hanging from her dress below bust and a parasol is leaning against her left leg with decorative handle upright. Edges trimmed in gold and scalloped. Printed on bottom in gold: "Choate Cumberland, Md." Printed on back: "Duplicates can be procured at anytime. Special attention given to all kinds of portraiture in crayon, ink, oil, or water color S.C. Choate, Cumberland, MD." Printed in and around very decorative pattern of vine and flowers, artists pallet, moon lit scene and wood border.
