Photo of Central School fence. Old Courthouse building in 1882. Stone retaining wall and Masonic Temple. The Temple was built in 1909.
Update 2008: Black and white photo of the two story Carbon County Courthouse built in 1882 and the two story Masonic Building built in 1909 . Photo shows a concrete sidewalk with black nail fence in foreground with the courthouse across the unpaved street. The courthouse building has a high stepped entrance with side sandstone walls with a lamp post on each side front. The entry way area extends out slightly on both 1st and 2nd floors. Building is of sandstone bricks with many tall windows on both floors. has tiled roof with widow walk on roof front with pole rising from it on corner. The rear of building has a chimney and there are 2 white wooden small buildings on courthouse side. Lumber? is lying on side ground. There is a cellar type roof on back side rear. other boards? and equipment is seen by the white building. An electrical pole is on side left of photo. Sandstone retaining wall encase courthouse side around. The masonic hall in background is made from same type of sandstone as courthouse . Two stories with many tall rectangular windows . Its roof has small widow walk at roof apex. Entry way with its own roof is on building front side corner.
Fair condition. Photo has been removed from photo album and has black remnants on backside with tears and missing pieces on photos front lower edges and corner. Soiling and wear in all edges with cracks in emulsion over top and bottom surfaces .Writing in black in on back surface shows through to photo front.Collection
