Update - May 2010: Sepia print. Studio pose mounted on white matboard. Head & shoulders portrait of a man with thinning hair & a white beard & darker mustache. He is wearing a dark 3-piece suit, white shirt & dark bow tie. Round lapel pin in left lapel; top of watch chain visible in button hole of vest.
Written on back in blue ink: "Geo Ferris" [partially cut off] [pencil] "George Ferris First a Sheep Rancher and later was partner in Ferris-Haggerty mine. he was killed in 1900 by a runaway team on his way from Rawlins to the mine." [red pencil] "Copied by State" [black ink] "and mounted".
Mounted on acidic matboard. Cut down from original size - edges rough & uneven. Image surface scuffed & scratched.
One 5 x 7" black & white copy print. Writing on back same as original. Stamped on back in black ink: "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department".
Wrinkled; emulsion cracked along top & at center left & right side. Back slightly soiled. Surface missing at center top at back.Collection
