Black & white glossy contact print. Image of a car in motion. The car is dark with a "3" painted on the side. A dark figure is seen behind the steering wheel. The car is open topped with light colored tires & spoke wheels. It drives on a flat, dirt road with sparse vegetation in foreground & rolling hills beyond.
Good condition. Irregular emulsion, slight creasing, scratched, wrinkled, curled, faded streak on right side. Size 5 x 7"

July 4, 1922. A Rawlins Essex, owned, built & driven by Walt Lambertsen with Frank Keefe as mechanic was the only car to finish the long route from rock springs to Pinedale & back. Exact time was 4 hours, 6 minutes & 40 seconds. distance was 201.8 miles.
The time of the winner was considered remarkable for the condition of the roads & there were four stops, taking something like ten minutes, it brought the running time under four hours, or over fifty miles an hour for the entire trip.
A prize of $250 was awarded Lambertson & Keefe.Collection
