Written on back in blue ink: "Indian Camp - [cut off] or Shoshonies[sic] {SHOSHONES][.] These Indians came through Rawlins almost every year after visiting with [cutoff] other tribe of Indians and always camp south of the Railroad tracks at the east end of town where the slaughter house used to stand. Picture taken sometime between 1900 & [cut off] [.] Given to Museum by Mrs. Ed T Bennett.[.] "copied by State 39%" "3"

Mounted on acidic matboard. Mat cut down from original size - writing on back cut off; edges rough & uneven. Mat front soiled along lower edge. Image surface soiled & scratched.
