Photo of Front St., Rawlins where Big Nose George was lynched, 1879.. Update - 2009: Black & white postcard print. Image of Front Street in 1879 of Rawlins, Wyo. A line of businesses are seen along a dirt street. Signs on building read: "J. W. Hugus & Co. Bankers" "Dry Goods Groceries" "City Restaurant" "Hardware". Two barrels are laying next to a high line pole on opposite edge of street. Written on bottom in white on original negative: "Front St. 1879 Rawlins, WYO. Copy by Meyers" Printed on back: "POST CARD" "CORRESPONDENCE" "ADDRESS" "AZO" forming a square around "PLACE STAMP HERE" Written in pencil: Property of Carbon County Museum Rawlins, WYO. Condition: Good. Creased, scratched, accretion, back has adhesive & green paper from previous mounting. One 4 15/16 x 7 1/8" black & white copy print. Stamped on back in black ink: "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department" "Neg. No. 5914". Written on back: [black ink] "Duplicate" [blue pencil] "Mounted" [pencil on white adhesive tape] "Rawlins businesses" Good condition. writing on back impacting emulsion in upper left. Emulsion cracked, scratched throughout. [Note: Per Rans Baker. Lamps installed on Front Street in Dec. 1880. Date on the image is after 1880, not 1879.]
