Black & white glossy contact print. Image of two steam engines with a small number of cars & several covered wagons sitting along side trains. Approximately thirty men are standing next to the train in a line, with a couple on one engine & two are seated by a pile of refuse. There are stacks of flat objects on photo right. Men are seated on the wagons & some are on horseback. One man stands beside his horse. "85" is on the front of one engine. Foreground is well traveled dirt with wagon tracks & hoof prints. A slight amount of snow is beside tracks & on hills in the background. More debris is scattered along tracks.
Printed on bottom in white: "End of Union Pacific Track - 1867 Near Archer, Wyoming"
Good condition. Creased, scraped, paper missing left lower corner, emulsion impacted.
