Note on Railroad Hotel aka Pacific Hotel turned into facility for Railroad Workers only, now that the Ferris Hotel is open (agreement made with builders that this would happen)
Pg. 66-There is no reference to what this number refers, probably the pages of a book-Note on Big Nose George’s skull being in the Carbon County Museum, and reference to his never having shot his way out of any prison, etc.
Pg. 67-From the 1880’s on S. L. Willis established his racetrack at the site of our current fairgrounds, etc.
Pg. 69-States did travel out of Rawlins. Lines to Baggs, to Lander, Ferris, Rongis, Oil City, and Casper; direct line to Saratoga, but never a line for Rawlins to Elk Mountain; The big money in staging was not in hauling passengers, but in carrying mail. Rans notes that this information is at the museum.
Pg. 12-“Lights Out,” Rans states that his memories of this subject of the lights being turned off during air raid sirens and having to black out lights from homes differ from this source. Rans wrote other notes about Japanese pamphlets? that are unreadable.Collection
