Update 2/2008: Black and white print. Image of a group of wooden buildings in a denuded forest on the slope of a hill. Dirt track road meanders through center from left foreground to right center background. Stumps of trees all over hillside.
Written on back in black ink: "Area Battle Lake" "Battle Mt. Mines".
Strip of paper taped to back with transparent tape: [blue ink] "Duplicate." [typed] "Picture of Battle about 1912 Carbon County Wyoming." "A forgotten ghost mining town on continental divide."
Paper yellowed and badly curled. Lower left corner missing. Yellow adhesive residue at bottom and top edges, left and right . Appears to have been printed off center-dark line above image 1/2" deep. White line along left side from original print or negative. Emulsion badly cracked throughout; paperclip marks at center top edge. paper wrinkled and creased.Collection
