A collection of 10 belt buckles worn by the donor's husband, Rans Baker.
a. A bronze metal oval shaped 2.25" x 3.75" belt buckle with embossed image of wheat sheafs on each side with one large mushroom at center and two smaller at each side. A black leather keeper? is attached to hook on belt side of buckle. Some tarnishing.
b. A 2.25" x 3" gold colored metal buckle shaped in a rectangle. Embossed on the top of buckle "Shattuck School." A shield emblem is at center embossed with "Shattuck School Faurebault, Minn. Attachment objects are on back. Tarnished in places.
c. A 2" x 3" rectangle shaped bronze colored metal belt buckle. Embossed on front is an eagle with wings outstretched and leaves crisscrossed on each side under the eagle. A tiny banner at top reads"E pluribus unum." A brown leather keeper? is attached to hook on belt side of buckle. Tarnishing and wear is predominant on top of buckle, minor on the back.
d. A shiny 2" x 3" rectangle shaped silver metal belt buckle with black background around edges and embossed silver design superimposed on top. At center is an oval large black jet cabachon stone with tiny silver beaded design surrounding it. A larger bead with a medium bead on each side of it is at side left and right. Good condition.
e. A heavy pewter metal belt buckle shaped in a raised rectangle. 2.5" x 3" at widest and highest points. Buckle is embossed with a Native American chief with lance on horseback at side left. A cowboy in the midst of roping is horseback at side right. At center is a steer skull with shield behind it. The word, "Wyoming" is raised at side left of steer? skull and "Legend" is at side right. Scroll work is at side left and right edges. Copyright 1990, Siskayou Buckle Co., Ashland, Oregon. Printed on back of buckle, #153, of 1000, and "Wyoming, the cowboy state, rich in western traditions which reflect its frontier heritaage, etc." Buckle sold exclusively by Corral West Ranchwear, Inc. Good condition.
f. A heavy silver colored oval belt buckle, 2.5" x3 3/8." A large embossed buffalo is placed on a textured background at center. A smooth edge encircles the oval to the lower edge where a banner with the word "Wyoming" is engraved. Embossed on back is a tiny circle with a star. "Colorado Silver Star" is imprinted on circle. There are two tiny rectangles on back with 5945 in one and 1992 in the other.
g. A heavy pewter metal belt buckle shaped in an oval, 2.25" x 3," with raised images of a Native American on horseback at side left, a buffalo at side right and a mountain man at center. Engraved on a banner over his head "1890-1990." Engraved on a banner at lower edge "Wyoming Centennial." There are various tiny rectangles on back of buckle with data on them. At top, #2374 of 10,000; at lower edge: ...fourth in a limited edition commemorating Wyoming's 100th year of statehood, etc. Side left, 1989, Siskayou Buckle Co., Ashland, Oregon.
h. A 2.25" x 3.25" oval silver metal buckle, black background on top with silver floral design at lower edge and top inside. At center is a colored U. S. flag with a flying eagle in front of it. Edge of buckle has a silver design and is extremely worn. Back of buckle is highly textured, embossed "made in U. S. A."
i. A 3" x 4" oval leather belt buckle, with a dyed color background of sky and hill with an eagle's head predominant. Brown leather lacing is braided around edges of buckle. There are unknown stains on buckle front and back. Silver colored metal piece on back for attaching to belt.
j. A 2 3/8" in diameter circular silver metal belt buckle. Buckle front has a textured background with remnants of a buffalo skull predominant. There is brown discoloration at various places on front and back. Printed on back on raised elements: Indiana Metal Craft 1976, and Dege Designs. At lower edge on back: 018.Collection
