A heavily worn and soiled 3-ring loose leaf blue notebook with an orange and black bumper sticker placed diagonally on the front cover. Cover measures 10.25" x 11.25." Book contains minutes, (finances) treasurer's reports, cancelled checks, pamphlets, correspondence, members' reports, publicity, receipt booklet, various brochures, etc. of the Rawlins Centennial Committee. Book compiled by Linda Gilbert Russell, Sec/Treas. Members were: Reuel Armstrong, Chairman; Russell Stout, Vice Chairman; Linda Gilbert, Sec/Treas; Members: Ed Smyth; Barney Harris; Everett Mann; Dan Kinnaman; Alex Semryck; Byron VanZandt; LeVell Jones; Ed Tierney; Tony Butterfield; Earl Crum; Jim Sullins; Dan Holloway.
Book is divided into sections by colored tags. 1st section is entitled "Minutes." A booklet titled, "A Brief History of the Union Pacific Railroad," is attached to the section page.
11/15/1967-Minutes of Meeting of Rawlins Centennial Committee. Details election of officers, review of 75th anniversary events, etc. Group voted to celebrate for the whole year and not just a special day or week. Events and programs were decided on and listed.
11/29/1967-Minutes. Highlights: Dredge and fix up Rawlins Springs and place fence and monument. Parking area of 2.5 acres added.
12-13/1967-Minutes. Highlights: Work with schools to get all grade levels to prepare children for the centennial; sell remakes of old newspaper.
1/10/1968-Minutes. Highlights: beard contest; areas of responsibility are delineated for the members.
1/24/1968-Minutes. Highlights: Letter and article for newspaper; reports on old train engines available; objects to sell celebrating centennial; radio interviews, etc.
2/7/1968-Minutes. Highlights: Money raising ideas, placemats for restaurants, etc.; railroad ideas and artifacts.
2/21/1968-Minutes. Highlights: Letters to clubs, sample products for sale; Big Nose George Hanging event; BLM to make sign for Rawlins Springs;
3/6/1968-Minutes. Highlights: bids for picnic food,
3/20/1968-Minutes. Highlights: Parade plans; raffle tickets;
4/10/1968-Minutes. Highlights: Centennial booklet; Elks Club to hold dance; Lions and Shrine Conventions; museum to be open, 5 flags of our past to fly during the summer; Schedule of events for May, June, July, and August.
4/24/1968-Minutes. Highlights:bumper stickers; billboard signs; Centennial Souvenirs.

Includes letter about broken merchandise and claims; ads for services; letter from Union Pacific Railroad Co. re: centennial pictorial history display, sound tracks of trains, miniature train, films, etc. available for celebration. Other letters to Sinclair, Pitney-Bowes, Laramie, Cheyenne Chambers of Commerce; letter inviting John Wayne to appear.
