Black and white snapshot prints, 14 views of a parade in downtown Rawlins, probably mid 1950's. View 1: A birdseye view of Cedar Street. A drum major leads a group of about 45 people carrying accordions & the last couple of rows carry drums. They are dressed in western attire. the sides of the street are lined with cars & people. Business's seen are "Wyoming Drug" "Hesteds" "Dunns Coffee Shop" View 2. View of a float shaped like a ship with 2 men at the helm. Same businesses as above seen on street. View 3. Horseback riders follow a group carrying flags. View 4. A long line of horseback riders going east on Cedar Street. The south side of the street has a brick building with sign: Rawlins Drug". On north side is: "Sweetbriar". View 5. Two horseback riders, one on a white horse & one on a black horse. They are very ornately dressed in western shirts, hats, chaps & saddles. View 6. A float pulled by an open top jeep. Written on the float: "We go to sleep counting people who where wool" "Wool Growers & Aux" On the opposite side of the street is a fire truck with a sign reading: "The Oldest Piece of Equipment Still In Service" It is the fire truck now in the Carbon County Museum. View 7. Group of horseback riders all dressed in light colored clothing & hats followed by a pickup truck pulling a float. Children are running across the street. Large crowds are on both sides of the street. View 8. 2 horseback riders & pack animals with signs. The sign is blown up & all that is visible is "Supply". Another group of 3 riders follows with an additional horse. Businesses seen: "Rawlins Federal" "Bennett Hardware" in addition to one mentioned above. View 9. A marching band with 5 majorettes with flags & batons. About 25 people with band instruments are wearing dark uniforms. View 10. A float with Fergusons written on the front & top behind a pretty lady wearing a white dress. A man dressed in white drives. Float is 2 colors with a star & stripe. View 11. A float with (unreadable) Cafe & Bar on side. It is light colored with an extension on both ends shaped like spouts. View 12. A drum & bugle corp with drums in the lead. A group of about 45 wearing light colored pants & dark shirts with ties. View 13. Two women , horseback riders at the Cedar & 4th Street intersection. They have on light colored long sleeve shirts & hats. View 14. A convertible decorated with crepe paper followed by another convertible followed by horses.
