Two Packets of 12, 8" x 10" reprints of Stimson historic black and white photographs,1898-1908. (one group was sent to us by a museum in Thermopolis, which wanted no response). Packet envelope is entitled "A LOOK AT THE COPPER DECADE IN GRAND ENCAMPMENT WYOMING 1898-1908," as portrayed by historic J. E. Stimson Photographs. (This envelope is placed in archival file: Mining by name: The Rudefeha Mine/Ferris Haggarty Copper Mining Co.) Photos are numbered and placed in appropriate photo file.
Update July 2011: Two sets of 12 black & white copy prints. They are both distinquished by small 1-12 after the object id number. Set two is designated by 1b-12b number.
View 1: Image of a mine scene that has a wood platform with ingots sitting on edge. A solid wheel cart is at the far end. One man has his back toward camera & another is holding a sledge hammer. More men are in front of & beside a building. A mule team is hitched to a wagon on a lower level. Another building is in the distance on photo right. Printed on bottom in white: "Ingots of copper ready for shipment, Encampment". Good condition.
View 2: Image of pole framework holding up roof of mine. Two men are seen. Printed at bottom in black: "Interior Stope Rudefeha Mine, Carbon County". Good condition.
View 3: Image of a three store, multi level roof, wood building with tram in background. Printed at bottom in black: "751 Tramway Power Plant No 2 Carbon Co., Wyo." Good condition.
View 4: Image of a large machine with a large wheel, cylinders, rods, gauges, valves that is inside a building. Printed at bottom in white: "Air Compressor, Ferris-Haggerty Mine". Good condition.
View 5: Image of a large cylinder pouring liquid into a mold. Printed at bottom in white: "767 Drawing copper from converter, Encampment, Wyo." Good condition.
View 6: Printed at bottom in white: "763 Interior Smelter Power Plant, Grand Encampment, Wyo." Good condition.
View 7: Printed at bottom in black: "744 Snow Scene in Sierra Madre Range, Carbon, Co., Wyo". Good condition.
View 8: Printed on bottom in white: "762 Tramway & Smelter, Grand Encampment, Wyo." Good condition.
View 9: Printed at bottom in white: "766 Blowing copper, Encampment Spelter, Wyo." Good condition.
