Description

5th St looking north (Old Pen at the end) about 1906-07. Update 2009: black and white print of the 200 block of 5th Street looking North. A dirt street is in photo center, it is lined on either side with stone or clapboard buildings. In the distance at the end of the street is the WY State Penitentiary. Sign on building on photo left reads: "Harry E. McFarland Groceries & Fresh Fruits". A box wagon sets on street on photo right. Sign on building on photo right reads: "Furniture". Written on back in pencil: "Copies by state." "Neg. No. 6643." Printed on back in black: "Neg. No. 6643 Print No. 94." Copy: Written on back in pencil: "Building on left-Dr. Osbornes' Office, 5th Street looking North." Stamped in black ink: "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department . Neg No. Print No. 163". Written in black: " Copied by State." "Mounted". Stamped din black ink: "Carbon Co. Museum. " Size 5 x 7. Condition good. Wrinkled from paper clip. Liquid stain bottom right corner, soiled. Note from Rans: on left, Dr. Osborne's old office building, alley, McFarland's Grocery (O'Donnell-Quinlan Building) Charles Johnson's Livery Barn, Buffalo Street, Cottage Hotel (the Old Redlight).
