Black & white copy print of a train. On photo right is a steam engine with "66" painted on the back & sides. The tender car is wide & has a smaller wood structure inside. Two men stand on the ties beside the train & two more are up by the engineers compartment. Two more steam engines are in between the lead one and the train cars. Engines are facing toward cars. A long line of large box cars follow, some have items piled on top of them. In the foreground are dirt, rocks & some snow. One man stands on the ground and two more are on the second engine. Printed on center left: "U P File Photo.
Written on back in blue ink: "Construction train employed by Casement Bros in the building of the Union Pacific R R. The workers lived in and on top of the long cars. Moving forward as the building progressed."
Good condition. Lower left corner creased & torn, tear on top right border, fingerprints, scratched.Collection
