Update - 2009: Black & white print. Mounted on matboard. Image of a young man dressed in a dark 3-pc suit, white shirt, bow tie & cap, standing in front of a wall of pigeon holes stuffed with papers. His right arm is resting on a box on a horizontal shelf & his left hand is on his hip. Electric light bulb with scalloped reflector hangs from ceiling.
Written on back in blue ink: "Walton E. France" "1898 when he worked in the Post office - located at 4th [&] Cedar - Perry Smith - Postm[aster]"
Given to museum by Mrs. Anna France Rawlins W[yo]."
Written on back in black ink: [covered w/white adhesive label]:"Copied - mounted" Pencil notation at bottom partially covered by above white adhesive label pasted to back, written in pencil: "France".
Mounted on acidic matboard.
Cut down from original size - writing on back cut off & edge rough. Image surface soiled & scuffed.
