Update - 2009: Sepia prints (2). Studio portrait. 3/4 length portrait of a man seated in front of a painted backdrop. Man is wearing a 3 pc suit & white shirt & hankerchief. His receding hair is short but he has a very long beard & sideburns, no mustache.
Two original(?)(could be copy prints)
1. Written on back in blue ink: "James France" Damage in lower left corner either on original negative or original print. scratched at upper left & lower left.
2. Written on back in blue ink: "James France" "came to Rawlins 1869 This picture was taken in Rawlins Wyo. He built a 1 story stone building on Front St & 5th[.] later built an upper story[.] He was the first banker in Rawlins His bank was located in this building[.] Died in Salt Lake City in 1888[.]Was born in South Bend Pa.." "Given by Walton France".
Pencil & black ink writing partially covered by white adhesive label pasted to back. Written in pencil on label :"France"
Wavy dent n paper across top. Same damage in lower left as print 1.
