Description

Black & white print card. Image of 1920's Rawlins. In background is the old Wyoming State Penitentiary, coming forward is west, into residential areas. In foreground are small, white buildings built in a "U" shape. A sign on top reads: "Sunset Camps". Streets are dirt. Another group of similar units is down the street but sign is not legible & they are darker in color. Printed on back in black: "POSTCARD" "Correspondence" "Address" Card addressed to: "Mrs. C. J. Jenks Thermopolis, Wyo" Message: Rawlins, Wyo, July 17, 1928 Hellow folks: , Came within 15 mi. of here yesterday and camped. Didn't know the ground was so hard. Grace". A red stamp cancelled with wavy lines reads: "U S Postage" "1778-1928 Valley Forge In God We Trust 2 Cents 2" Good conditions. Liquid spots, indentations, tack holes, paper missing on spot in top center, soiled.
