Description

A small Navajo doll sitting in front of a small loom weaving a Navajo rug. Base of display measures 5.25" x 8." Loom outer bars extend 10.5" at corner braces. Weaving on loom is blue and white wool stripes. Doll is sitting on cotton batting and the wooden base is covered with muslin type cloth. Doll is made of tube material with her back to the display. She has black hair with some gray strands pulled back in a large bun at back with a string tie at center of bun. She wears a sleeveless gold corduroy top with a cotton calico floral type skirt. Her arms are raised in the process of weaving. Donor states in the original contract record that this object is old and was gifted to her in 1977.
