A Modern Grandmother Crow Doll made by Mary Lou Big Day in the 2000's. She carries a stick with horse hair bundle tied to it. Donor states that she is very modern. Ochre on dark brown hair at part. She wears a carved shell or bone chips beaded necklace and earrings. Leather wrapped leggings. Bought in Cody, Wy in 2003. She wears two 3" horsehair braids that come past her waist. Dress is made from red cloth with long wide sleeves and black accent trim on sleeve edge and hem edge. There are tiny white beads placed on long sleeves and lower waist. She wears a leather belt with silver studs that ties in back. Doll measures only 7.5" and 3.5" at top bodice area. There are light blue accent beads designed in "v" shapes at top of bodice. A small tan brochure is attached to the doll that is entitled, "The History of the Crow Indian Dolls by Mary Lou Big Day." It gives detailed information about her life and history.Collection
