Update 2008: Black and white print attached to brown matboard 9 x 14, of a large group photo of the Rozell Dancing Club taken inside a large gym type building with a balcony above the main floor where sections F-J show. Decorations of floral vine drapes across the front facade of the balcony and cover down two round support beams that extend from floor to ceiling, covered cross beams that have light bulbs running the length and width of them. The men and women in photo are primarily segmented into four tier rows with one small cluster of men and women on the photo right by staircase. The first row is comprised of seven (someone has numbers the people in blue ink and the first row is composed of 31-37) men seated on the hard wood floor wearing dark suits, white shirts, ties and bow ties. The second row is of 15 women wearing long dresses, primarily white and medium toned with only one in a dark color seated on chairs. They are numbered 16-30. The third row is a group of 15 women and 2 men seated. They are numbered 1-15, 26, 27. The fourth row is comprised of men, number 1-25, standing on an elevated platform type stage area. They are all dressed in dark suits, and white shirts. The cluster of people by the stairs is comprised of two women seated in chairs in back of one man seated on the floor in front of them. Two men dressed in dark suits and white shirts are standing behind the man and two women, numbered 28-30. (the #30 was used twice).
Condition: Fair. The matboard has been roughly cut down on top and bottom edge. It has been torn at left corner and bottom right edge. The entire left side 1 1/3 inch from edge has been bent so that mat edge drops down when removed from mylar sleeve. Wearing on all edges. The photo has abraded emulsion at top left. Adhesive shows at print edges. Blue ink has been used to number all people.
A tiny white sticker on back written in pencil: Clubs and Org. Rozell Dancing Club.
On photo back is written in blue ink: Given by Mrs. Walton France. Rozell Club. This picture was taken in the Masonic Temple before the balcony was taken out after a fire. Removed after the fire of 1922.
