A red satin, stuffed, Iroquois beaded souvenir whimsey bird with tiny deep green beadwork throughout the body of the bird. A tiny green hanging cord at top (from head to tail) for hanging. Two small red balls hang from the "beak" on two rows of green beads. Attached to lower edge of bird is a red cloth covered roost bar 2.5" long. Woven design of beads extends from this bar with three more small red balls hanging beneath. Beaded designs on wings and tail. There are tiny red beads and gold linear beads at various places in the designs. Measures 6.25" from beadk to end of tail.
This object is not listed on the Cook Contract and is not written correctly on the appraisal report. Appraiser gave the date as 1907, but there is no id of this date. He possibly transposed the information and the date would be 1900's. Appraisal amount is either $300-$350.Collection
