Description

A light gold cotton, stuffed, Iroquois beaded souvenir whimsey bird with tiny gold beads throughout the body of the bird. Beak has two small hanging beige balls extending from beak by tiny gray beaded strands. Light gray beads of two strands form a hanging strap which extends from head to tail. Bird wings and tail have fancy brown larger beaded medallion designs. This bird has a faded red cloth covered roost bar, 2.75" long from which three small beige balls hand. Balls are covered with gray beads. Under the tail are lime green bead denoting, "1907." This object is not listed on the Cook Contract and is not written correctly on the appraisal report. Appraiser gave the date as 1900's and the year 1907 is beaded in lime green beads under the "tail." Therefore the appraisal amount is unclear. It is either $300 or $350.
