Description

Black & white copy print of snowy city streets. On photo right are clapboard business buildings that have large windows. A two story building has a sign painted in window: "Wallaces' Pioneer Groceries". In the distance is a 2 story brick building with darker brick on 2nd level. Lower level has a striped awning. A vintage car sits on a snowy street. Two men are on sidewalk in front of business buildings. Two or three more at the corner & appear to be shoveling snow. A vague image of the old penitentiary is seen on photo left. A flag flies toward the west on 5th Street. Written across top in black: "May 1 1917 Rawlins Wyo." Printed on back in black: "Copy Provided by the Wyoming State Archives & Historical Department. Four notes are taped to the back with historical information about businesses: "H H Brunning Store, Rube Smith Shoe Store, Geo. Volkert, Frolings, Louis Schalk, L. Kakis, Brown Millinery, Ed Cannons' fruit, candy & cigar store (See Photo back) Good condition. Creased, #12 in red on top left front, scratched.
