Black & white print on cream mat. The photo is of 18 men in long sleeved white shirts, dark pants, and a large belt around the waist. 14 of the men have on fireman's caps while the remaining 4 have on fireman's hats. They are standing in front of a hand pull hose cart. 6 of the men are holding attachments for the hose. You can see the city buildings in the background, also train tracks and some railroad train cars.
Printed on back in blue ink: "C. A. Cook 8th from left, Union Pacific Fire Department".
Written in pencil on yellow post it note: "UPRR's volunteer "Alert Hose Co. No. 2 circa 1894. Standing in the UP yards south of the 300 block of Front St Rawlins,Wyo."
In black ink: "Rans"
Fair condition. Scratched, emulsion impacted with grooves, accretion, very soiled, mat corners worn & paper missing, liquid stain on back, ink stain. Size 10 x 12"
