Photo of Aero Station operated by Dave Rusk. Built in 1924. First at the corner of 8th and Cedar in 1922. Update - 2009: Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of an early gasoline station on the corner of two streets. Brick columns holding roof of driveup pumps; brick building. Terricotta tile on roof; signs at roof peaks "AERO STATION". Decorative lamps on curbs. Vintage automobile pulled up to pump. Man leaning against pilar at front of automobile. Other buildings, houses & hills in background. Written on back: [pencil] "Assorted scenes of Rawlins - outdoors". [blue ink} "Dave Rush operated this station for a number of years[,] later operated the one at 502 W Spruce [black ink] This station corner of Buffalo & 5th Rawlins" [pencil] "1924 built"; "first one" 8th Cedar St. 1922". Caption on copy (see accession book): "AERO STATION" #2 Built 1924 Corner of 5th and Buffalo" Written on emulsion surface at center bottom: "5th Street". Large area of yellow staining along left side of image. back badly soiled. Emulsion badly cracked on left side - one crack from top to bottom edge. Cracks over all surface. Upper right corner missing.
