Photo of Aero Station operated by Dave Rusk and built in 1924. Billie Williams and Earl Falwell were the station attendants.
Update - January 2010: Two black & white original prints. Snapshot. Mounted on black matboard. Image of a brick filling station with covered pump islands. Spanish tile roof with signs on both arms: "AERO STATION". Two pumps on island at left & air hoses hanging from brick columns at both islands. Small office building at center with door at one corner. Vintage automobile pulled up to left pump island. Two men standing by right column of left pump island looking at camera. Other buildings in background & lightpole in right foreground. 300 block of 5th street.
1. 7 x 9". Written in blue ink on emulsion surface along bottom edge: "Billie Williams & Earl Falwell attendents" "Dave Rusk's first filling station corner of fifth & Buffalo Sts."
Mounted on acidic matboard - mat warped. Corner damage; back soiled. Image surface stained & scratched; bubbles at left & along lower edge. Ink on emulsion.
2. 7 x 9" Written on emulsion surface in blue ink: [at top center] "Dave's station 5th st & Buffalo-"; [center bottom] "Earl Fallwell[sic]". Written in pencil on back: "Rawlins Street Scenes".
Mounted on acidic matboard - mat warped slightly. Corner damage; soiled front & back. Lower right corner of image torn & shoved under photo; piece missing from lower left edge. Badly soiled & faded. Emulsion dented, cracked & scratched. Ink on emulsion.Collection
