Written on back in pencil: "Judge Friend sold one carload of paint to Sidney Dillon President of UP. R. R. Co which was shipped East & was the first used on the Brooklyn Bridge" Written on back in blue ink: "A view of Rawlins in 1877, looking from the west to east. In the foreground is the old paint mill. In 1874, Judge Friend sold on carload of paint from this mill to Sidney Dillon, President of U.P.R.R. This was shipped east and was the first paint used on the Brooklyn bridge." #42 Adhesive residue & green paper residue on back corners; tape residue on upper corners. Soiled. Slight corner damage. Pencil & pen marks on emulsion, One 5 x 7 1/8 black & white copy print. Written on back i pencil: "assorted scenes of Rawlins - outdoors" {about 1873" "Page 13, Picture 1 "[on white adhesive label] out scenes of Rawlins". Written on back in black ink: Duplicate". Stamped on back in black ink: "Neg. No. 5923" "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department. Slightly soiled on back. Emulsion irregular; wavy lines in emulsion. Upper & lower right corners bent - emulsion cracked. Paper clip mark in upper left. One 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 black & white copy print. Written on back in black ink: "Paint Mill".
