Photo of sandstone formations done by the wind at Windy Hill, north and west of Rawlins about 20 miles. Taken June, 1934.
Update 1/2010: Black and white print. Snapshot. Image of two women and a large wind carved sandstone formation. One woman is standing in front of the rock. She is wearing a dark 2-piece dress with lighter stripes on hem of blouse and large hat and dark boots . Second woman is seated on right side of rock with her hands upon her head. She is dressed in light pants, white shirt and knee-high boots. Other large rounded boulders in background. Sparse vegetation between rocks. Woman at right is the same as seen in 1948.042.0044 and identified as Gerry Brimmer.
Written on back in purple ink: "Windy Ridge".
Stamped on back in purple ink: "Jun 23, 1934" "5".
Slightly yellowed around edges. Slight corner damage. Emulsion scratched.Collection
