Update 2/2010: Black and white print. Snapshot. Mounted on tan paperboard. Image of a group of workmen standing in front of flat car and several box cars along a railroad track. Sagebrush covered hills with striated rock outcroppings in background. Sagebrush prairie in foreground. Several workmen are standing or sitting on top of the rail cars.
Written on original negative at bottom edge: "Union Pacific Construction Train 1868".
Mounted on acidic paperboard; board and photo warped and wavy. Appears to have been cut down from original size-edges rough and uneven. Fingerprints across emulsion surface, soiling at upper edge, adhesive affecting emulsion along left side and bottom. Emulsion cracked and dented.
Update July 2011: Two copy prints. One is taped to the back of an open, beveled edge, white mat.

Good condition (both copies), scratched, one in mat has a spot of paper missing on left side.Collection
