Original and two copy of Judge William Ash.
Update 2/2008: Sepia print. Carte-de-visite. Mounted on light blue matboard. Studio portrait. head and shoulders image of a man in a dark suite and white shirt. He sports a long beard and mustache which clean shaven cheeks and short hair.
Written on the emulsion surface at bottom in blue ink: "Judge W. L. Ash".
Printed on back in black ink: "E. L. Eaton, Photographic Gallery, established 1857 [two medallion and more printing below-partially obscured by writing and adhesive label and paper residue]."
Written on back in black ink: "Judge William Ash-resident in 1870's . Part owner in meat market[.]" "1 of " "Copied" "Mounted" [on paper adhered to back which was partially removed to reach photographers name on 1/17/08].
Written on the back in pencil: "Page 88 pix 3 1/2 x 1 1/2"
White adhesive label on back: "Ash".
Mounted on acidic matboard. Front badly soiled, ink smeared on image surface. Paper residue on back. Slight corner damage. Image surface scratched. Faded on front.
One(1) 4 7/8 x 3 1/2 black and white copy print enlarged and cropped to portrait. Written on back in black ink: "William Ash-1870 Judges".
Copy 2: Written across bottom front, copied from original: "Judge Wm. L. Ash".
Written on back in blue ink: "Judge William Ash, resident in 1870's and 1880's. Part owner in meat market"
